On July 7, 2009, at the Headquarter of the Finance Ministry, Minister Vu Van Ninh received London corporation delegation led by Mr. Ian Luder, the Lord Mayor of the City of London in the working visit to Vietnam . The delegation’s visit aims to study business environment, financial market of Vietnam and cooperation opportunities on financial sector between Vietnam and London ’s Financial District.
At the meeting, Mayor Ian Luder said the UK Government always records goodwill of Vietnam Government in giving priorities to foreign investors such as demand stimulation policies, tax preferential… He hopes that in the coming time, Vietnam will keep opening door and creating favorable conditions to the investors from the UK . Regarding to financial cooperation of the two sides, London financial market is evaluated as a developed one and have rich experiences on managing and developing financial and capital market. Therefore, he is ready to share experience on this field and create good conditions to Vietnam businesses to approach the London capital market.
Minister Vu Van Ninh expresses his thanks to the Mayor’s cooperation goodwill. On regard of financial cooperation including capital and bond markets development, the Minister hopes that the London ’s Finance District will share experiences on completing legal framework, managing and developing financial service market, improving staff’s capability in observing bond market activities. Vietnam is always ready to open door and create fair investment environment to foreign investors including the UK ones. He hopes that the cooperation relation of financial services among financial, insurance, accounting, editing, securities units… of Vietnam and the UK will be further developed.
