On January 31, 2007, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Finance, the Standing Finance Minister of Finance Mr. Tran Van Ta and Mr.  Daniel Morel, the Chairman of the GIP ADETEF has signed the France-Vietnam bilateral cooperation plan for 2007. The signing ceremony is witnessed by the leaders of the MoF’s relevant departments and representatives from GIP ADETEF.

The GIP ADETEF is an agency which is in charge of the implementation of sponsorship activities funded by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry of France to support 5 units of the Vietnam Ministry of Finance including General Department of Taxation (GDT), General Department of Customs (GDC), State Treasury, Finance Inspectorate and Public Assets Department of the yearly cooperation program under the frame agreement on France-Vietnam Cooperation signed from July of 2004.

During the past time, the activities of the frame agreement have been carried out at the relevant units of the two ministries. With this agreement, the Vietnam Finance Ministry has held various surveys in relating fields to France to learn experience. Particularly, in the field of inspection, the two ministries have been completing the necessary procedures to establish the bilateral project in inspection field. It is expected that this project will be put into operation at the beginning of 2008.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ta appreciates the effective cooperation and assistance of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry of France in general and of the ADETEF  in particular. The signing has further strengthened the results of project as well as promoted the traditional cooperation between the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry of France and the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam./.
